As an ex-Canadian, one of the things that made me fall in love with my new country is ....BEER.

In canada, booze and beer are regulated and sold by govt offices. When I first got to America, I never believed beer was sold at 7-11 and I almost cried how easy it was to buy it.

Some states you've got to go to a special liquor store. I think Maryland is like that. I found the scene in "Strange Brew" where Bob and Doug have to go to the special store to get their beer funny but irritating.

After viewing the scene I thought: why should Canadians have to go to a special store to buy beer? Please explain the logic to me.
