I took my 10 year old son on a surprise trip to a Yankees game in the old stadium 15 years ago. We took the train up from Philly where we were visiting my folks in the ‘burbs. Came into Grand Central then switched to the subway. A cop asked if we were going to the Yankees game and my son’s eyes got big as baseballs when he put two and two together. It was a fantastic day. My Dad took me with him on a business trip to NYC when I was 11.He took me to a Red Sox/Yankees game..nosebleed seats,3rd base side.At 11 I knew nothing about the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry and,as a result,couldn't understand the dirty looks I was getting while cheering for the Sox.
