Did you guys do the long low crawl under barbed wire with M-60's firing over your head in Basic?

Now that was a rush.

Yes it was. So was firing the M-60 and the LAW rocket. Our senior student at AIT was a former Green Beret who ran us about 20 miles a day. Much harder than basic. But my AIT was coed, so it was quite interesting.

There was a fire danger at Pendleton when we were scheduled for the low crawl under fire. So, the live fire was cancelled. We still had to do the crawl, and they could still fire the gas cannons in the pits to simulate mortar fire, or whatever.
