Silicon spray is better; it doesn’t attract dirt as much as WD40 or even oil.

Never use silicone oil to build an engine. Never! Trust me.
I'm talking about squeaky things around the home — hinges and such.
I haven't rebuilt an engine in 40 years and won't be doing so any time soon.
