I agree that Arab Christians don’t deserve to be tarred with the same brush as Muslims. Most Lebanese Catholics that I’ve known and dealt with have been fine people (with absolutely no sympathy for their Islamist former countrymen).
I live in a part of Pittsburgh that used to have a Maronite Church (it has since relocated to a new building a few miles away). Many Lebanese and Syrian Christians settled in the area as a result. They are very fine, peaceful people. And I know they aren’t terrorists because when they don’t feel like driving to their new church they attend Mass at mine (the Maronite Church is in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church)
Arab Christians in Michigan FAR outnumber muslims and that is also true in Dearborn. Most churches in Dearborn have signs in english and arabic writing because the older immigrants struggle to learn english. It was a Dearborn priest who was recently chosen to be Bishop or something in Baghdad.
Michigan has fallen to about 8th in overall number of Muslims among the states yet the popular fantasy is that most Muslims are in Michigan.
As far as the muslims who are in Dearborn, a former classmate of mine is an FBI agent stationed in Detroit. He says the Dearborn Muslims are the most closely monitored in the world. Unfortunately he says that there are far more dangerous muslims living everywhere from Virginia, Minnesota, Texas, California etc.
