Daisy Pofallor is one of the Guardian's most respected journalists so I think this story has a lot of credibility.

The timing of Clarkson’s epiphany seems rather suspicious to me.

It was that steamy affair he had with Piers Morgan that changed his mind. Good to see he’s come around to the side of the Good Guys!

And you just got played.

I must admit the video at the Guardian is funny. The Clarkson body double isn’t the greatest, but as long as the camera stayed out of focus and shooting from across the room it was passable.

Following what he described as a dark night of the soul, Clarkson said he hoped to regain the trust of the British public by dedicating his time and financial resources to sustainable energy, road safety and forging mutual understanding and tolerance between people of different cultures and religions. April Fool?

Another gem from the article
Top Gear was a wild ride for an ordinary bloke like me, said Clarkson, speaking to the Guardian at a pub near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. But there comes a time when a mans got to ask himself what he really stands for. And for me, thats sustainable energy, traffic calming and an end to xenophobia and prejudice.
