There is a similar par-3 at Cloudcroft, NM -- same concept, but extreme in another sense.

For one thing, the golf course lies at 9000 ft. The ball carries!

For another the hole is, as I recall, 280 yds. And the fairway is an old ski slope. The shot is steeply downhill.

The one time I played the course, I used a 7-iron, drove the green and two-putted for a par.

Yikes - that’s above the tree line, isn’t it?

Can they actually grow grass that high?

Is that the course behind the Lodge? If so, I was having coffee on the deck when two newbies teed off on the first hole. Because of the altitude, his shot went about 70 yards past the pin. His comment was, “Holy sh&t!”
