My thinking is a dead one is a good one. No eatin’ they come after my dog...them is dead. :)
Pray to God you’re never hungry enough to need to eat one. :D
Aww, Javelina ain’t so bad.
If it’s just one....
I’ve had friends treed by a pack of them.
Used to hunt Javelina with a black powder rifle in South Texas.
But, I also carried a Glock 19 in case some of their pack buddies objected.
They taste like BACON.
Out of curiosity, have you in fact partaken? These critters apparently don’t grow very big (<100 lbs), so in theory, the flesh shouldn’t be all that tough, from carrying around the weight of a full-sized pig.
It’s been awhile since I’ve hunted them, but if you like venison or other game, they taste just fine.
I have only heard about them; from what I’ve heard, the young ones really aren’t bad at all.
Beware, they have very, very sharp teeth.
(And know how to use them.)
(”Javelina” supposedly derives from “javelin”,
to indicate the type of sharp front teeth they have.)
>> Lisa Bates, who has committed her life to rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife, said we all share the desert and the javelina is just one of our incredible neighbors.
“All we are say-ing
is give peace a chance.”
My biggest problem as a geezer is that I have to share my remaining days on earth with the likes of her...
It’s recommended that you kill them prior to eating them.
“You see them nurturing”
They want their piglets to have high self esteem.
Javelina piglets must make for great roast suckling pig.
A million coyotes can’t be wrong.
Did she say incredible neighbors or inedible neighbors?
just like the domestic pigs
Yes, and if you let a domestic pig go it goes wild in a matter of weeks, as soon as it learns it doesn’t need people for food. Once that happens people are an enemy to be killed whenever possible.
alts...Almost the same recipe for carp. HA HA HA HA!
Safety off, breathe, fire. :-)
my daddy, being an old farm boy (born 1901) said “if your drunk , stay away from the pig sty.” If you fall in they will have you eaten before noon the next day. They will eat anything....including you...
