Goodness, Mary Ann was hot as a firecracker and she had no skin exposed at all.

The 60s are my favorite decade even though I was just a little kid.

She’s still cute for her age. Ginger hasn’t aged well.

I read that Natalie Schaefer was an old friend of Sherwood Schwartz. She was probably a beauty in her youth but she was actually quite a bit older than the character she played.

Yes, she was in her 60’s while filming Gilligan’s Island. I’ve seen her in some old movies and she was very pretty.

Yeah you could sort of tell she had been a looker in her day.
If I had been on that island, the first thing I would have done is put Gilligan on a raft with as many supplies as he could carry and hope he made it, but also hope he never set foot on the island again.

I didn't hear that in 1965. I was in Germany, and the Armed Forces Network station in Frankfurt played Adult Contemporary--Jack Jones, the Four Freshmen, Mel Torme, etc.--polkas, Hawaiian music, show tunes and even doo wop--but no Top 40.
However, as the Castaways ruled the charts in America, this tune--virtually unknown in the US--held sway throughout Western Europe.
