Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the fraternity at the center of the racist University of Oklahoma video, has its roots in the pre-Civil War Deep South. 'We came up from Dixie land,' says a ditty from an old songbook, boasting about SAE's success. Now, nearly 160 years after its founding at the University of Alabama, another song - this one chanted by members of the frat's University of Oklahoma chapter and containing racial slurs and lynching references - hearkens back to the bad old times in the land of cotton and puts a new spotlight on the group's activities over the years. SAE officials insist the chant is neither a sanctioned song nor is it taught to fraternity members.

The Brits never tire of rubbing our noses in the “negro problem” even though they did the same for centuries, the ships transporting them were mostly theirs and we were their colonies when it originated.
Anyone in the press found Obama’s college transcripts yet?
They like to deny their role in slavery I’ve noticed.

They’re really harping on the frats and sororities these days. Somebody didn’t make the cut, methinks.
So does the Democrat Party.
The fraternity claims its founder was the first person to die in the Civil War because he tripped or slipped getting onto a steamer and was washed away and drowned. This happened some months before Fort Sumter was attacked but after Alabama seceded from the Union.
I dunno, the mother of a couple of them (my neighbor) told me that SAE stands for “Sleepers And Eaters”.
Oh come on, what’s next? Are you going to point out that Africans Have been holding their fellow man in slavery since the beginning of recorded history?
or are you going to tell everyone that Africans Held Whites in Slavery to build all those pyramids.
Are you going to tell us about how Africans continue today to hold their fellow man as slaves and have regular auctions of slaves?
This could intentionally damage the highly coveted self esteem of a whole lot of hyphenated Americans.
I joined Reagan’s fraternity in ‘83. We didn’t have any off-color ditties, unless you count references to Lambda Chi and Sigma Chi.
Imagine if this had been Kappa Alpha...
I recall from my days at UGA during the mid-1970’s that 2 social fraternities, KA and SAE, held spring week-long celebrations and formal balls called “Old Home Week.” The guys would wear formal Confederate Army uniforms for some of the events while their dates wore ante-bellum formal dresses. They had a reputation for partying hardy and celebrating the “Lost Cause.” By 1980 the university’s marching band known as the “Dixie Redcoat Marching Band” since the early civil rights days of the 1950s, had dropped the descriptor “Dixie.”
WORLDWIDE NEWS!!!! This story has legs like Earl Campbell.
It won’t die for some time.
Did these SAEs spit in the food or drink of blacks as Jesse Jackson did with whites? Did they egg on the burning of black property like Al Sharpton did with Freddie’s Fashion Mart? Yes, I’m speaking of the Jackson and Sharpton that the Associated Propagandists don’t have an issue with.
Nobody seems to have asked or answered this one question:
Is the song true?
“There has never been a N***** SAE”
Is that true....no blacks have ever been members?
Here’s another dumb chant that doesn’t seem to bother the lefties:

There was an African-American in the chapter 14 years ago. None since. There was a thread yesterday.
