I have to point out that his machines weren’t strictly “hybrids” — they didn’t use batteries. They were all electric powered by diesel generators — his invention and design.
He was a giant of industry, instrumental in the war effort, employed and educated many...changed countless lives for the better and yet nobody’s heard of him. He probably is OK with that, though.
