Not even their own lives, as matter of fact. How can you reason with people who are $unwise enough to rob a store if they see one uniformed officer in front of the store and another inside?
(I presume both LEOs were in uniform because the article talks about the officer possibly wearing a camera. Also because there were two of them. I do see police officers in stores from time to time, browsing or buying. They are on call anyway.)
