On my recent trips up there the smaller notes I’ve had all seem to be made of plastic.I think it would be tough to avoid having the ink be wiped right off of them.

All of our banknotes are plastic now; there was an article a few years back about how the new notes would ruin the “spocking fives” tradition.

True. What you have seen on the thread so far are the older paper versions. They are still in circulation and legal tender but diminishing in number as time goes by. Any Spocked notes will likely get removed as soon as a bank gets a hold of them. The image on the newer plastic notes for the five looks less like Spock anyway.
