How about a new state?

Even less likely than a transfer between states. It would be a clearly conservative state which would require two new senators, a possibility as well liked by Democrats as Conservatives feel about giving statehood to DC and Puerto Rico, which would tip the Senatorial balance the other way.

Don’t you talk about Puerto Rico that way. PR is mostly Catholic. They would never be a blue state. /s

I would think its all in the realm of fantasy.

While I doubt ANY state is willing to give up any part of itself, I think its less likely that blue states will moreso than red ones. I can more easily foresee a red state willing to give up the blue portion: Tho I can’t think of any right now since the blue portions are urban enclaves for the most part. The blue states need the red portions to keep sending them money!
