Hardy souls who shivered and shoveled their way through February in the Northeast now have evidence of just how brutal the weather was, with record cold in at least eight cities and record snowfall in Boston.
Were the standout globally, said Art DeGaetano, director of the Northeast Regional Climate Center at Cornell University. Its colder in Siberia, but were the farthest below normal.
The climate center shows the New York cities of Buffalo, Syracuse, Binghamton and Ithaca had their coldest months ever. The average temperature was 10.9 degrees in Buffalo, beating the 1934 record of 11.4°. The normal average temperature for February in Buffalo is 26.3°.

Can’t get enough of this. But I’m a snowboarder.

Yep. Coldest February ever recorded in Cleveland too. Maple syrup season is being delayed and may be very short due to the persistent cold not allowing for the sap to rise. It was bad last year too. And the warmist ignoramuses have been alarmed that the maple industry will suffer from global warming. Morons.

In Downeast Maine a bit of snow is starting to melt on roofs and roads where the sun has been shinning for several hours.

Balance of nature, doncha know. After all, all the “climate change” had to go SOMEWHERE, even if an entirely new and unsuspected extra dimension has to be created. Simply send Buckaroo Banzai across the 8th dimension to assure its smooth transition.
However, if you agree to higher taxes and lower expectations from life, the smart boys will make all this go away.
Yeah, right.

But you can’t count the weather after Feb. 1. You have to stop at the end of January. The weather for December and January prove global warming. Other data is not relevant to ‘consensus science’.

Speaking of Maine, do you know any of those “dickering” guys I see on TV? Tony Bennett is my favorite. LOL

On a positive note... I believe the sustained -30° F weather I have been having in northwestern PA has killed all the powder post beetle larvae. Now if it only killed all the mosquito eggs, then I would be really happy.

Depends on the species. I know this cold weather has significantly reduced the numbers of Indian Wax scale, and Brown Marmorated stink bug where I live near the DC beltway.
Too bad Japanese beetles can take the cold.

I live in Rome, NY. Our average temperature in February was 7.2 degrees. Ouch. Maybe that is why they closed Griffis and Plattsburgh, but strangely enough left Grand Forks and Minot open. It was so hot (90 degrees) and humid yesterday, that I spent the day at the beach, two blocks away from my house. 😄😃👍🔥😅 The hot weather takes the energy right out of us. 😂☀️

A whole month? I’ve become such a home body I’d hate to be gone that long.

And it was caused by: Human caused global warming. How else can you explain the cold?
