Sacked St. Peters in 846, leading to the first call for a Crusade, though it took 250 years to get it organized. They hit Sicily in the early 7th century. The Emirate of Sicily lasted from about 830 to just before the First Crusade at the end of the 11th century. They are patient, and should be taken seriously.
