To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan 's Radio City Music Hall for a benefit.

One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'.

Here are the lyrics she used:

(Sing It!) - If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!!

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting, Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings, Bundles of magazines tied up in string, These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses, Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses, Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings, These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak, When the knees go bad, I simply remember my favorite things, And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions, No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions, Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring, These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin', Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin', And we won't mention our short shrunken frames, When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break, When the eyes grow dim,

Then I remember the great life I've had, And then I don't feel so bad.

Now that has class... I wonder if Gaga is getting tired of junk.

I would have liked to have seen her in a Bratwurst Dress. LOL!

I didn’t watch the Oscars, but I am glad they recognized Julie Andrews.

One thing is for sure, Gaga has some pipes on her.

She makes Madonna sound like a screeching cat.

Those of us who either saw or heard her sing, aqua hair and all, with Tony Bennett were not at all surprised at the range and beauty of her voice....she stole the show from where I was sitting.

I guess I was blessed. I wasn’t watching the oscars, but though, it’s 11:20, they should be to the winning film. Instead I was pleasantly surprised with the into of a singer I didn’t recognize beginning to sing “Sound of Music”. And then Julie Andrews appeared. And after the ‘best muscial score’ I turned off the tv.

Last night about 8:30pm PST, I commented here on FR how great was Lady Gaga’s tribute to Julie Andrews at the Academy Awards - that I had no idea what her voice sounded like - - -

Also the sad fact that Julie Andrew’s voice has suffered (due to botched surgery some years ago).

I’m glad Andrews was there (to present an Oscar) and went onstage and joined Lady Gaga - classy.

I was working on my computer in another room, when I heard this beautiful, magnificent woman's voice singing at the Academy Awards.

I immediately stopped working on my computer to go in the tv room to find out who this person with the magnificent voice was.

Lady Gaga. She also looked very beautiful in her flowing white gown. I sat there mesmerized. Unbelievable.

I knew very little about Lady Gaga before the Academy Awards show. I saw her a few times singing on late-night talk shows. That was about it. I think I remember seeing her with weird colored hair.

Anyway, I was tremendously impressed by her wonderful voice and how pretty she looked.

Well, that's all I have to say.

She (Stefani Germanotta) is actually quite talented; she can not only really sing, but plays the piano and composes original jazz music. I thought what she did last night was probably the only thing at last night’s Oscar’s worth watching (and I didn’t watch it BTW) but found it via this thread.

Vintage Lady Gaga Live at NYU - Captivated & Electric Kiss

Unfortunately such music seems to have a rather limited audience now days and she went from this and what she did last night to going for the shock value, the controversial and edgy route for the fame and the big bucks.

But perhaps this performance will bring her back to doing more good music in the future.

One can only hope.

FWIW, I really liked this song of Lady Ga Ga’s that came out a couple of years ago, liked it’s sort of country honkey tonk and rock and roll vibe.

Lady GaGa - You and I Lyrics

But trust me. While the song is good IMO, you really don’t want to watch the actual video for it and don’t do it! It’s disturbing and absolutely ruins what is actually a pretty good pop song.
