We’re certainly going to learn about the subject with the NFL studying brains, bit poor John Vukovich was sadly deceived if he ever thought he was taking PEDS. From his Wikipedia bio:”He is also known for recording the lowest career major league batting average (.161) of any non-pitcher with 500 ABs or more.”

I believe Vukovich was from the preceding generation of players. He was in the majors at the time I was playing college baseball. In my time in college, early 80’s, PEDS was something associated with football not baseball. We still were told not to be muscle bound. I first encountered PEDS when I was playing semi pro ball in the late 80’s. I had a few teammates who were using them, and believe me, they work. At the time I was beyond my sell date, but the guys using were younger and still were the ripe age for pro ball. Back then it wasn't Biogenisis and Balco, it was stuff they bought in the mens room at the local gym.
