Shih Tzus are not real dogs.
I’m not sure exactly what the heck they are, but they are not dogs.

I’ve had a variety of dogs.... one of our dogs now is some kind of a Maltese - ShihTzu - something mix.
He looks like he’s only a lapdog but he’s a pretty good trail dog for high mountain running (I live in the Rockies).
