This piece discusses how Jourdan was replace in the weird, time travel musical "On a Clear Day" (you can see forever), but I think it was he in the movie version with our good friend Barbara Streisand. I remember seeing that in the movies and I'd love to see it again, but it seems like it's been excised from the collective memory. Even Variety doesn't mention the flick!

That was another gentleman, the late Italian/Frenchman Yves Montand, who was in the film version of “On A Clear Day...” opposite Streisand.

I saw him live in GiGi about 20 years ago. He was playing the part that Maurice Chevalier made famous in the movie. The man oozed french class. Not sure how he was in real life.
