I relish every moment with her the last couple years she has left.My 13 1/2 year old golden "Glory" is making her final trip to the vet tomorrow. Old age and cancer have caught up with her.

Ask the vet to come to the car to put your companion. down...most vets will do that if you ask....I sat in the back seat with my dog petting her head. The vet tech sat with me until I stopped crying even though I only had to drive next door to the clinic. I kept asking if she was really gone and the vet said yes but to ease my concern, she put another hypo in.....it goes by weight and she was a lab.....I didn't have to carry her in or out of the office......
