Dogs certainly read our expressions and they understand words. One of my JRTs knows when I say “bath” and she disappears. I have heard that dogs are color blind but I don't think they are. I have a yellow apron I put on before I bathe the dogs and they all avoid me when I am wearing it.

They have trouble with red/green. The other colors are rather washed out looking but they can see them.

My lab can read my mind, so I took her to the vet and had her tested.
He said she reads at the sixth grade level. (thank you very much!)

One of my JRTs would only fetch his red ball. He wouldn’t have anything to do with the Orange or the yellow one. They were all exactly alike except for color.

Ask the vet to come to the car to put your companion. down...most vets will do that if you ask....I sat in the back seat with my dog petting her head. The vet tech sat with me until I stopped crying even though I only had to drive next door to the clinic. I kept asking if she was really gone and the vet said yes but to ease my concern, she put another hypo in.....it goes by weight and she was a lab.....I didn't have to carry her in or out of the office......
