Sure, he reissued Magna Carta in exchange for some revenue. But then he set about systematically dismantling the manorial court system in order to force everyone to use the royal courts.

Edward instituted several legal and administrative reforms that helped the development of the royal courts and the common law.

He also made permanent the principle of including commoners in all Parliaments.
