My impression was the pilot of his aircraft was in visual contact with the hit aircraft and as a singular mission, they all remained as an intact unit, until others could be sent to either remove or repair the damaged copter.
Were they from separate squadrons/sorties?
If you read the Tweet, Twitter or whatever that crap is from the pilot he says “Dude, I don’t remember you being on my bird location until an hour later.’ (paraphrasing). That doesn’t make me think they were in visual contact or an intact unit. If they were, they were quite spread out, even at LOW speed.
