Say that Rush and/or Sarah had been telling a lie for YEARS about how they had been fired at by a Rocket Propelled Grenade while they were visiting troops in Iraq.
Go ahead.
Now imagine soldiers coming forward after this LIE had been told for YEARS AND YEARS.
Go ahead.
Now imagine how the media would let them get away with it.
Oh, wait.
Sniper fire...
I remember it well in the Battle of the Bulge...
It wouldn't even take them Five Minutes before her "own side" would be pounding that meme.
All anyone would have to do is just make stuff up as they have in the past.
The spelling of potatoe, while not terribly common, existed for almost the entire 20th century. For example, the New York Times was still occasionally spelling potato with an e in 1988. In fact, one can easily find spellings of potatoe all the way up to 15 June of 1992, at which point they suddenly drop off or become used in an ironic way, referencing this incident. Quayle may have misspelled the word, but in doing so perhaps he taught the rest of us how to not make his error.
If they lied about it I could see where people would come down.
But Sarah would never lie about something like Being Shot at in a Warzone.
I guess my thoughts were coming from if someone said they did and then they corrected them, the Leftist Meme Building would continue regardless of the truth.
Sorry, Too Early in the Morning :P
I’m referring to things like the SNL skit “I can see Alaska from my house” which the loony Left took as truth.
Nobody that I can think of has been more harrassed and maligned than Sarah Palin. Many of the allegations being completely made up.
Drag on McCains campaign. When in reality without Sarah on the ticket he would have lost in a most spectacular way.
Etc.
Quayle was using flashcards prepared by the teacher that couldn’t spell.
What about a Secretary of State who claimed she was shot at while visiting Kosovo.
If anyone like Rush, Sean or Mark said that, the DBM would ask their advertisers to cancel their ads. Knowing NBC, they’ll give Brian an extension of his contact.
Same as the “Bush doesn’t know what a grocery scanner is” lie.
