He went wide hoping to spread out the defense but Belichick didnt bite. Wilson should not have thrown the ball.
I'm okay with a pass on second . . . BUT NOT A SLANT! Way too much traffic, and way too little room. Have'm go to the corners, as they did earlier, and overthrow if they aren't open.

They called the one play with the absolute maximum possibility of catastrophe.
I've never seen something that supports the idea of a payoff so blatantly in sports.

Except that there wasn’t a crowd, and there was a clear throwing lane as well. There were only two defenders on that side of the field, with no one even between the hashes, and one was involved in a block.
Just a good play by the defenders between Browner jamming the pick, and Butler diagnosing and breaking on the ball in what was essentially a one-on-one.
