I tried to be a good trendy reader. I really did. I was sick of the typical spy/war novel where the hero is independently wealthy, but widowed at a young age.
So I saw this Fifty Shades thing.
I couldn’t get through it. It was the most poorly written piece of crap I’ve read since my freshman college writing class. It was unreadable. And stupid. The writer knows nothing about business, or sex.
The women I’ve talked to were not really impressed. When I asked them if they liked that stuff, generally they said the same thing: we like the fantasy of it. But if a man treated them that way, they would run screaming to the hills.
This movie will sell to the Sex in the City crowd. But, I would suggest someone do a study that correlates sexual assault with teen boys watching this thing.
It will hopefully die a quick death.
