Friends, it's Sunday night again and time to relax. Warm up the tubes for another 4 hours of classic radio Americana.
Info *tonight's show will be available at the "Info" link starting tomorrow.
Official OTR blog of "The Big Broadcast" thread:
While I imagine the game will draw many away tonight, OTR will live on...kind of surprised Ed doesn't have a football theme going...
We've got a decent lineup. Escape is great...never heard of Romance so that's interesting...and we end with a Lux!
How's everyone?
The Big Broadcast is going head-to-head with the Super Bowl, so I imagine some of us will be tuning in to a re-run of tonight's show later in the week, but we'll still keep the thread up while we have the game on the radio. We have three stories the John Meston is involved in writing and adapting, so it will be like three "Gunsmokes," as Parley Baer narrates "Escape," William Conrad stars in "Romance," and with "Gunsmoke," all three stories are westerns. And since the Lux is a western, I guess it's just a western lineup tonight. :-)

That’s right. Halftime! :-) I couldn’t give a rip less about some pop tart’s performance, although I’m sure it will be an elaborate ordeal.
We’re doing fine, Vision. Got some ribs for the grill—again. I think that’s what we did last Sunday. How about you?
Came home Friday night to a house that was 55 degrees. The furnace wasn't working. It was going to be 13f that night. Scrambled around to get someone to come out and went to four stores before finding a space heater. A damn bird flew down the chimney, made a 90d turn, went 15 feet, put its head in my blower motor. It was really something and the heat was back on at 10pm with help from an amazed tech.
Not in a cooking mood this weekend. About about to go grab pizza and wings.
Football food!
I’m sorry to hear about your heater trouble (and the poor bird), but glad it was quickly resolved.
Here is yet ANOTHER grotesque, disrespectful butchering of the National Anthem! Why do these punks feel compelled to “make it their own” and “hip-hop” it up? It’s NOT their own! It belongs to the people of the United States, and as such, should be sung with reverence and respect! Nevertheless, Happy Super Bowl, Friends!
No, we don’t need Katy, either.
I've got the the volume off and am listening to JD.
Am glad to hear Gary Cooper is on Lux.
Halftime. Perfect timing for Gunsmoke. Great game so far.
Oh well. Better than the communist whoreshiper Katy Perry
Disgusting woman.
Escape!
I’m done with the NFL. NOBODY! calls that play. F-UM
