Easy solution. Just prohibit the use of smartphones in your classroom. Anybody that violates that edict flunks out of your class automatically.
Wish I could. Doesn’t work that way with the administration not backing up teachers. They basically have told us that we are supposed to have a “hands off” policy on cell phones anymore.
