"I think we better take what Jesus said seriously, they are the works of love."

Oh, I take Him seriously...

"I was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of the house of Israel...It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs (us Gentiles)"Matt. 15:24

The question is, do you? Are you actually living the Law?

"If your eye offends, tear it out and throw it away." Matt 5:29 "You are to be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect." Matt. 5:48

Works of love? You best amp up your game, my FRiend. Works of love is your softball take on what the One who demanded perfection is getting at. If you want to obey the Law, you better be ready to do it all. Gal. 5:4

Jesus said he came to fulfill the law, he came to bring the new covenant,

Why do you think the Jews would not except him?

Mathew 15
10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

That does not sound to me like Jesus was preaching the Jewish law.

Where do you suppose Paul got the same idea?

John 8
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Does that sound like he was preaching the law?

Mathew 5:28
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

There again he is telling the Jews they can not possibly live by the letter of the law, if an eye offend the, pluck it out, he was telling them that is what they would have to do according to their belief.

He was also no doubt telling them that they should not judge some one for actually committing adultery if that is something they are doing in their hearts.

Works of love is your softball take on what the One who demanded perfection is getting at.

Here again you seem to be insinuating that Jesus taught something we can not live with but Paul gives us a lighter yoke to carry than what Jesus did.

I totally disagree but if you believe Paul taught a different Gospel than Jesus did you better not believe it.

My FRiend if you believe Paul is teaching against what Jesus taught then maybe you need to stop and start from scratch.
