I wouldn't go that far. Here is my earlier review. Eastwood does what he does, which is to shoot a very up front movie with a minimum of special effects, and, if you notice, virtually no music. He wants the acting and the story to do the talking. I think the phenomenal reaction to the movie says a lot more about the mood of America, and the deep thirst for good history, heroes who are indeed heroes, and a victorious America than it does for the movie itself (which as you see I thought was very good).
