What if the Allies had lost World War II, the Nazis had been first to develop the atomic bomb, and the Germans and Japanese had carved up control of United States? That's the premise of the new streaming series from Amazon, The Man in the High Castle an adaptation of the 1962 book by the same name. And the show is fantastic.N

I recommend reading the book, by Philip K. Dick. And, for that matter, all of his other novels. Great Science Fiction.
Which is not to say that the TV series isn’t worth seeing, too, if it’s anything like the book.
I’m very excited about this. I’m totally into alt-history scenarios, and this looks like a really good one.
My Amazon Prime ran out i just might have to renew it....
What Cicero said.
Just a pre-view of Obama doing the job that Hitler failed to accomplish.
Thanks for the notice—I hadn’t heard about this. Just started watching and looks good in the first five minutes
I have always held Philip K. Dick novels in high regard. I will have to check this out. Thanks for the ping dogg.

Are they actually going to produce the series? I got sucked into watching another series premier but there’s been no more shows.
This story is perhaps his most famous, yet it left me cold. His premise is that they were not living in the “real” history, which meant what exactly? That they didn’t exist? That it was all a dream? And if so, where do you take things from there.
The reader was left scratching their heads.
Sounds interesting. For those of you who didn’t know, I wrote what I think is a pretty good counterfactual in which the Japanese win the Battle of Midway, called “Halsey’s Bluff,” available only on Amazon.
I wonder what a young mind, say about an 8 years old, thinks when they see a movie like Inglorious Bastards? To them that would be history.
You don’t have to have Amazon Prime in order to watch the pilot. If they do pick the series up, though, you can only see it on Prime. I watched it today and it was great.
Thanks
I’m having a prob finding it...
Never mind i found it, thanks
The main characters are married KGB agents who have infiltrated American society and live with us during the Reagan years.
Lots of real historical connections, Reagan really drove the Soviets absolutely crazy.
The funny thing is that you actually LIKE the couple and root for them not to get caught so they can "convert" to democracy and defect to the West. They give little signs of internal struggle now and then. I think the husband is ready to make the jump... the wife slow in getting there.
Viewer beware, however. This series has plenty of violence, sex, nudity... it is not suitable for family viewing.
