Really doubt “Selma” is going to win. Either it will be “Birdman” or “Boyhood”. The former because it is a parody of all those action hero movies. The later because it won best drama at the Golden Globes and those who vote in the Oscars go with what took place at Golden Globes.
“Selma” will not win because folks have had enough of the playing of the old, beat-up race card stuff.
Dark horse winner is “American Sniper”.
Also because 12 Years won last year. It would be like another Holocaust film winning the year after Schindler’s List.
I agree. I think "Selma"'s honor was just getting nominated.
