I have had offers to shoot for pay but I couldn't handle the stress and trying to please someone. Instead if I get something special I think certain people would appreciate, I was having a nice large print(s) made or burned them onto a CD. I haven't done any serious photography for maybe 3 years now. I participated on dpreview and that is where so many people mentored me help make my work better. But the shots I was seeing of others were so spectacular and faraway places, it kept me humble.
Here are two. My little owl. I had to get down on my stomach to get that shot and pose the owl that didn't want to cooperate and scratched me, not too bad. Most of my photos have a story. I hadn't seen a pussywillow in years. I decided I wanted a photo of some pussywillows. So I'm thinking how. Then I met someone who worked for the Park Board I met at the gas station and asked him. He couldn't think of any.
So I ordered one, think it was the Arbor Day Foundation. It took a couple years but if I get out there at the right time of early spring, I can get all the pussy willow shots I need. The one I will post was published in our local newspaper, and it was mentioned how hard a shot like this was to get. Yes, it was. I had a finicky Sigma macro lens, put my camera on a monopod and finally got the blue of my house as a nice bokeh background.
I'll throw in one more just for the fun of it, a favorite of mine but not particularly liked by anyone else, was guest photographer at a wedding. So I like to do people photos, too. Yes, I was shooting RAW by then and should have turned the WB down a bit plus the composition with the cropped heads leaves something to be desired but I like it anyway.
Here is the link I hope will work for you at flickr, just a hodge podge. Most of the eagles are the Alcoa eagle cam screen shots a couple years ago.
I do like nature shots of all kinds, architectural interests, and sometimes a defiant streak to flaunt people who try to stop me from taking what I want from public access.
Nice. Enjoyed viewing it.
