Wow. This is the first I have heard this story.
...in 1955, when the statue was finally removed out of deference to Muslims, to whom depictions of the prophet are an affront.
(For the same reason, The New York Times has chosen not to publish photographs of the statue with this article.)

They liked to depict him surrounded by fire. Very appropriate. Especially is contrast to Christ and water allusions.

You know what gets me about Mudslimes, is they freak out and kill if a picture of the King pedophle Mo-ham-mud is shown, but they got no problem naming 90% of Mudslime males “Mohammud”. So isn’t that impersonation? Meaning we got billions of Mudslimes walking around portraying the pedophile King? And if their photo is taken then they are displaying a picture of the King Pedo now different from a freakin’ statue or painting or cartoon.
