Little side note. Watched a documentary on this on the NFL channel. Green Bay had installed a heater consisting of a mesh of wires underneath the field. Lombardi was quite proud of this and showed it off often. Night before the game, they turned the heaters on and covered the field. Result was a lot of condensation under the field cover. When they removed the cover, the field froze almost instantly. IOW, had they left the cover off or not turned the heaters on, the condition of the field would have been much better.
Interesting tidbit, thanks.
Things would have been alright if the heaters had not malfunctioned. They were to be on during the game, but the heaters stopped working. I wonder what Lombardi said to the installers after the game?
