I have a “fake” facebook page for just this sort of thing.

Interestingly, because of where I said I went to school (IN the US), my hundreds of FB friends are almost all in Africa. And I accept all friend requests. All of them. But I respond to none of them, ever.

How does one “fake” a Facebook page? Doesn’t your computer location give you away, so they know you’re faking?
