Name’s been used, and by people who were more like today’s Republican party, a party of deals and malleable principles. Too easy to ridicule. I would prefer to have to Republicans to “go the way of the whigs”, as a result of our new party, whatever name you want to give it.

Why on earth would you take the name of a failed corrupt party of the past?

"Conservative Party" sounds good to me. Plus it's been tested against ridicule. There on no derogatory associations from the left like "tea bagger" etc.
