The logo printed on the New Orleans Police looks strikingly like the Moslem symbol. I guess it’s just coincidence.

The Star and Crescent badge, unique to the NOPD, has been worn by members of the department since 1855. The crescent represents the shape of the city, as the Mississippi River forms a crescent shape around the city. The star represents the power of a state or local government to preserve order and keep the peace; it is a traditional symbol of law enforcement authority in the United States.

The logo printed on the New Orleans Police looks strikingly like the Moslem symbol. I guess its just coincidence. Yes, it's just a coincidence. New Orleans was known as the Crescent City (from the bend in the Mississippi River it was centered upon) for much longer than that "Big Easy" nonsense has been around. No minarets there, yet.

New Orleans is the ‘crescent city’ because it’s built on a bend in the Mississippi.
Of course the city across the river is Algiers so ya never know..

It is called the crescent city because of a bend in the river. It is not Islamic. At all. They would be the first ones to try to burn it to the ground.
