The film also sees a dehydrated pizza growing into a meal-sized dish after 12 seconds on the 'hydrator plate' - this could be seen as an early form of the microwave meal. Didn't they have microwaveable meals in 1989? If so, then how is this a prediction of the future?

I bought my first microwave in 1980 at Sun Valley Mall in Concord Ca. I know Ca was considered at the edge of innovation at that time but not so much Penney’s where I bought it!
