Dominance of fax machines”
...that’s a funny one. Some people don’t even scan anymore. “Authentisign” allows someone to sign without ever printing a piece of paper.

I submit that there may be time travel but we are not privy to it. There are guys that manage to get a board to “hover” for a short period of time usually followed by a painful crash!

We got Time Travel next month. . . (grin)

“3D films
Microwave-style meals”
Microwave ovens were a long established technology in 1985 when the first “Back to the Future” movie was released. 3D movies were popular in the 1950s and date back to the 1920s.

Authentisign allows someone to sign without ever printing a piece of paper. I do that kind of thing all the time at work with PDFs.

Uhm...
Microwaveable meals?
Countertop microwave ovens were common by 1970 (invented in the 40’s).
BTF was released in 1985.

The film also sees a dehydrated pizza growing into a meal-sized dish after 12 seconds on the 'hydrator plate' - this could be seen as an early form of the microwave meal. Didn't they have microwaveable meals in 1989? If so, then how is this a prediction of the future?

I bought my first microwave in 1980 at Sun Valley Mall in Concord Ca. I know Ca was considered at the edge of innovation at that time but not so much Penney’s where I bought it!

The Pop Sci magazines have been predicting flying cars for decades, way before the 90s. I know because Mr. M has subscribed for decades and they all are in my bathroom.

In 1967, Amana, a division of Raytheon, introduced its domestic Radarange microwave oven, marking the beginning of the use of microwave ovens in home kitchens. Although sales were slow during the first few years, partially due to the ovens relatively expensive price tag, the concept of quick microwave cooking had arrived. In succeeding years, Litton and a number of other companies joined the countertop microwave oven market. By the end of 1971, the price of countertop units began to decrease and their capabilities were expanded.http://www.smecc.org/microwave_oven.htm

I bought a microwave at Sears in 1981.
