Another Jack Payne recording from that very same year (1931) that I always liked is “Lazy Day.”

In 1930, Jack Payne scored with The Stein Song. His version is considerably different from the American version, which was a hit for Rudy Vallee & His Connecticut Yankees.

Both versions were soon answered by a song entitled, "I'd Like to Find the Guy Who Wrote Stein Song." The American version was by Johnny Johnson & His Orchestra, and the British version was by Jack Hylton & His Orchestra.
