My Canary Has Circles Under His Eyes is performed by Howard Godfrey's Waldorfians with vocal by Al Bowlly issued in 1931.
Hmm...links seem to be malfunctioning. I tried posting one thinking you’d forgotten: no dice.

Anyway, nice choice.
Poor Al was killed in 1941 by a German bomb as he slept in his bed.
In retrospect, it’s a real shame he didn’t stay a few more years with Ray Noble in the States.
THANKS! And you posted the one I’d intended to post.
There are others, but they are horrible transfers.
Yes, his work with Ray Noble was great. I have a number of their CDs. Thankfully, a number of his recordings are available for listening on youtube.
That was delightful!
Ah...the roaring Twenties, when even the “Naughty Songs” were quite innocent! LOL!

Google up Rich as he has some past Sunday nights you can access and play for about 3 hours.
If you can get WFUV you can listen every Sunday night.-Tom
Here’s the stream for WFUV. Put it in your podcatcher.
If you paste this address in your browser, it will download a tiny pls file. Open that file with VLC Media Player, and the stream will play live.

Thanks for that info.
Many years ago I was going to bed around midnight in the Boston area, when I turned on my radio to see if I could pick up some far away interesting station.
I found Rich Conaty broadcasting from New York, the show was so appealing to me I was up till 3 AM listening to it, with my hand on the dial to keep the station tuned in.
Since then he has left that station and turned up at WFUV another NY station, and and in earlier time frame.
I just love that music from he 20s and 30s. - Tom
