The team TCU played today beat the best in the SEC?? Gained over 400 yards against the best scoring defense in SEC?
Allowed only 3 points even after coughing up 4 turnovers?
What a joke the SEC is.
TCU lost as a visitor in overtime to the #5 ranked team in the country.
Looks like politics is taking over in the sporting world as there is no way TCU should not be in the championship hunt.
Should have beat Baylor.. Blew 24 point lead in 4th quarter, don’t feel sorry for you. who is in/out in playoffs at all ncaa levels of football and other sports is always going to be debated.
The playoffs should be the top eight.
I actually agree with you.
I am personally more favorable to Baylor but I definitely think both TCU and Baylor should have been in the playoffs.
I think TCU and Baylor were both light years ahead of the rest of the Big 12. I am not sure who to cheer for in the playoffs because I think it was thoroughly political and either TCU or Baylor could probably easily beat whoever wins this playoff system.
Didn’t you mean to post your vanity in Breaking News instead of ‘News Activism’?
One of the interesting things, is that good ol’ R-Joe Barton of Texas wanted the BCS to end.
Well, he got his wish, and no team from Texas maked it into the playoffs.
Ole Miss is the best team in the SEC?
“Should have beat Baylor”
Agree there. I told my wife at tne end of the first half that hup over the kicker’s head and the field goal by Baylor would come back to haunt TCU.
You do not need to feel sorry for me; feel disappointed instead we have a non-functional playoff venue.
TCU only proved that they could beat anybody in a meaningless football game...I am guessing that ole’ Miss could never get interested in the contest and played accordingly...Come back when you have a team worthy of the playoffs...
“Ole Miss is the best team in the SEC?”
Please reread the first sentence in my post.
The best team in the Big 12 badly beat the 6th or 7th best team in the SEC, and you think that should make them national champs? Guess by that reasoning Clemson should be co-champs, eh?
“TCU only proved that they could beat anybody in a meaningless football game...”
So, you are saying that all games played during the year are meaningless unless it is the championship games?
Pray tell how else to interpret your comment.
My team is a fcs team and their are 24 teams in it and there is always a debate about who is left out and got in.. It doesn’t matter if there is 4, 8, 16, 20, 24 or even 32 teams in playoffs.
right...they destroyed a team who lost three of its final four games against IA competition and has been on the downslide since they (Ole Miss) lost their best receiver to a grusome injury...
College football is now about celebrity coaches. I’m glad TCU kicked Ole Miss ass today. They belong in the final 4. THE! Ohio State University doesn’t. If I had my way all of the final four would lose.
Did anyone notice that guy sporting a tattoo? Imagine the originality of that!
‘The best team in the Big 12 badly beat the 6th or 7th best team in the SEC, and you think that should make them national champs? Guess by that reasoning Clemson should be co-champs, eh?”
you are making up words, friend.
I said
1. TCU lost to the #5 team on the road in overtime
2. Ole Miss beat the best team in the SEC
3. the disappearance of TCU from the top 4 teams to make the championship series is political rather than due to fundamental attributes of team and scheduling
How did you possibly interpret me to say TCU is the national champ? That must be decided in this playoff forum. The sports politicians decided to keep them away.
And I have no earthly idea why you drug Clemson into this. That is weird.
The fallacy of the undistributed middle ... becoming quite common around here. what DD said is correct, if you have nothing to ‘play-off for’. Additionally, the parity at the top of college football is also becoming apparent, so yes the top teams could beat each other on any given day. Ole Miss defeated Bama, but Mississippi has been on a collapse for the last three games of the season. That was no challenge for TCU. I contend there should be six teams in the post season playoff, with the top two having a bye first round, OR eight teams with quarter and semi and final.
There is nothing riding on these games with the exception of the playoff series...It’s like kissing your sister without the emotional involvement...
