I see it every day. It is nothing much to look at.

Soon there will be several residential towers in mid-town Manhattan that will tower over it (if you don’t include the spire - which is a way of cheating).

I’ve seen it close up (when in NYC I always make time to visit Ground Zero) but never from afar.Up close I don’t find it at all impressive,design-wise that is.

It’s not the worst, but there should’ve been two buildings built with a better design instead of the “unfinished” look at the top.

It’s the tallest minaret in the world, at least the top third.

I thought it was supposed to represent a memorial candle, with the antenna as the flame. It looks like a candle.

I looked at that list and frankly didn’t agree with it.

Several of the inclusions are very contemporary and quite a few experimental/revolutionary.

Go back and read the critiques of art deco architecture and some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s work when they were new.

None of these buildings can be accurately assessed until decades have passed.

Instead of two new buildings twice as big and twice as tall, we get holes in the ground, yearly sobfests (aka pleas for mercy), and a tower that has integral occult references in its design (”as above, so below”).

Honestly, how much evidence does one need for a group of conspirators behind the systematic destruction of this country, and the West?

I think it's gorgeous, with the edges constantly changing. I only wish that there were two of them.

Remember, the original towers were generally loathed. They were engineering wonders, but few people cared for the way they looked.

My office view every day when I was working in NYC was the original WTC. After the planes struck, the view all the TV networks were showing from midtown might as well have been from my office. Back then, mid to late 70s, everyone in NY hated the towers’ look, too. And it was just as visible from NJ’s Hudson Co. as is this building. They’ll get used to it.

I think it’s ugly as my mother-in-law, from the pictures I’ve seen.

The should have built the towers back, just as they were, but maybe a little taller as a statement of defiance. Maybe place a bridge between them around halfway to the top, if possible/practical.

What’s also insane is HOW LONG it took to build that thing and the museum/memorial. We built the Hoover Damn faster than that!

Embrace the suck.
...................
with that said, I sorta liked the
‘outside-vertical-aluminum work’
on the original 2 towers.
other than that, didn’t like them.
