The lure to call folks anti Semite must be a big draw
Problem is
That has nothing to do with this Argentine tradition
In fact she is being applauding for being the first to include a Jew in this annual thing they do down there
The media in Tel Aviv no less is praising her
my point is only that Joos are seldom left to live normal lives without being portrayed or classified (or yes, worse sometimes) as something other than regular human beings
sometimes they’re idealized
sometimes they’re defamed (or murdered)
I’m not saying that they’re always defamed, nor am I saying that the Argentine thing is intended to defame them
it appears to almost be an honorific down there (?)
either way,
my point remains that Jewish people are often not treated as the regular Joe next door
that’s all.
