I "think" but do not know for sure that I cured several internet issues for my wife (her only real usage) by killing that weird "cloud" thing that MS snuck in to Win 8.

MS truly needs to add a switch to say "go back to Xp configuration" and get rid of all this strange smartphone crap that no desktop user wants.
