How times have changed ....
” a story so queer
It’s all about Santa and his helpers three”
I remember going to the local Sears and Roebuck’s were they had a train display and watching the trains run for hours (late at night (at the age of 8 or so), with no fear of being molested, abducted).
I remember seeing Santa on each corner in front of a red kettle ringing a bell and have it explained to me that they were Santa’s helpers ... still some confusion (at the time).
I remember a simpler life, a life fill with hope and a belief in Christmas and Santa. A life were Christians could have their time without all the PC crap.
I can remember when queer meant strange and gay meant exactly that not queer.
Oh yes, those were the days.
For those able to view WGN-TV, there will be a showing of “Bozo, Gar, and Ray,” at 10 p.m. central on Christmas Eve. It’s an enjoyable retrospective of some classic children’s programming, and includes these three clips as well.
Watching old Christmas episodes of “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” on the local “Cozi” (oldies) station - corny, silly, and wonderful....
Yes, I remember those shows. I was born in 1953 and grew up in Chicago, so I watched Garfield Goose, etc.
I honestly cannot believe I am old enough to have watched ALL those when I was a little girl!
Going to bookmark this and show my daughter, I’m sure we’ll get a good laugh. Sigh, where did that innocence go?!
Thanks for putting these up.
