Issues of Marriage and divorce between adults (other than ourselves) is none of our business.

Nor should it be the business of the state. The concept of marriage licenses, tax implications, and everything in law regarding marriages should be abolished.

If consenting adults want to get married, they can contact someone of their choice to conduct the ceremony and do it. Why does it have to be the business of the state/government?

The only legitimate business the State has in marriage is the enforcement of a contract.

Couldn't agree more with this statement. It is neither the State's nor the Fed's business.

You are 100% correct.

Let’s approach the subject a different way. The governments in the Western world have for centuries played a significant role in regulating marriages. In Rome I believe that the government had a role in marriage by setting forth 2 or 3 types. (I am reaching way back in my memory. Roman historians please step forth!) So there must be a reason for this government regulation. I think the burden of proof is on you to demonstrate why we should deviate from our history.
