in California, gift cards have no expiration date... i used two very old “gift certificates” a good five years after i received them... i received them back in the days before they came out with gift cards... i even took a print out of the law or ordinance that says they do not expire, but i did not need to use it... the gal accepted my gift certificates without question :)
